Orientation Week Post For #ETMOOC

My name is Patrick Larkin and I am the Assistant Superintendent for Learning for the Burlington Public Schools in Massachusetts. The video above was something I created with Jing last year for the National Association of Secondary Principals' Digital Principal Award. It gives a little insight to my use of technology as a school administrator and references ISTE's NETS Standards for administrators. I served as the high school Principal here in Burlington for the past five years before moving to a position in central office for the current school year.

I am excited about joining this MOOC! I have read so much about the MOOC phenomenon in education and figured that the best way to truly understand what is happening and how this can work from the standpoint of a learner is to immerse myself in one.  I am hoping to have the opportunity to learn with educators from all over the globe to extend my thinking on the opportunities for blended and online learning for students and staff members!
